Petr Klingr

Was born in Litoměřice where he studied at Josef Jungmann High School and has been studying something ever since. He started photographing in the summer after the Russian tanks with a white stripe and with no lilacs on them arrived to Litoměřice. In that summer he got a plastic Pioneer camera for his birthday, the then technology rave. And he has been into photography to date. He has been using a Japanese battery-free camera with Czech roll films and another Japanese battery camera with Taiwanese cards. With the former camera he photographs 6 x 7 cm format and with the latter (numerical) he performs data collection.

He has been taking pictures of anything worth taking a picture and follows his perception, not just vision. And it is probably the way it should be. He mostly photographs nature and all of its beauties. He loves photographing in Šumava, the Central Bohemian Mountains, the area around Holany (a village near Česká Lípa) and elsewhere in the mountains and in wild nature …
He had 9 solo exhibitions in the last couple of years. He also exhibited at multiple club exhibitions. His photographs appear in promotional materials of Litoměřice and in its cultural and leisure facilities. His pictures also appeared in two successful books dealing with the recent history of the royal town of Litoměřice (“Litoměřice jak jsme je znali / Litoměřice as we knew it”). However, the biggest reward for Petr is when people like and appreciate his photographs …
